Rules
The OESS Shows
are OEF Discovery Competitions. Organizer agrees to follow the rules of Equine Canada
regarding horse show regulations.
Owners & riders at the OESS shows must be members of
the Ontario Equestrian Federation. Photocopies of all relevant,
current memberships must be sent along with entries. For more

No Drug
Fees are collected and no passports are necessary, however drug
testing can occur.
Brushing boots and polo wraps are permitted.
A horse
may be entered more than once in a class.
Only "legal" bits will be allowed.
Martingales in any flat classes will not be
permitted.
A copy of a
current year negative Coggins Test for each horse must accompany
entries.
Riders must
wear their numbers at all times while riding.
A rider
falling off in the show ring is immediately excused.
Re-mounting in the show ring is not permitted.
Every person mounted on a horse must wear an ASTM
approved riding helmet properly fastened at all times they are mounted
on a horse, as well as proper riding footwear.
Any horse observed to be lame, sick,
unsound or in distress, the judge or show organizer will
excuse the horse from further classes.
Divisions
may be split or combined at the show secretary's discretion.
In the
hunter ring, performing a correct simple change of lead will score
higher then a horse on the wrong lead.
When
Division Championships are awarded, ties will be broken as follows:
Dressage by the highest dressage score: Hunter & Jumper by the
best equitation over fences placing.
Hors
Concours entries will be accepted at the discretion of the Show
Committee.
Each show
may limit the number of entries accepted. Enter early to avoid
disappointment.
Entry forms with payment is due 1 full week prior to the
show date. Should a cancellation be necessary, a refund shall be
given less a $25.00 scratch fee.
Acceptance of Risk:
Neither the OESS, its volunteers, show
organizers, helpers, staff members, or their families shall in
any way be held responsible for any accident, injury, death,
damage or loss of property of any competitor or visitor to show
sites. An Acceptance of Rick form must be signed by each
competitor and horse owner.
